Reading List
I’m not sure how many people actually pay attention to the content I include in the sidebars here on my blog, but one item I’ve maintained for a while now is my reading list.
When my blog lived at Blogger, it was a list of (about) the last 10 books I’d read, along with a link to either the author’s page, a Wikipedia article about the book, or a review somewhere.
When I moved to my own domain I didn’t have a way to automatically keep the list at 10, so I just listed all the books I’d read in 2008 (along with the same links mentioned above).
Well I’ve stepped it up a notch – if you’ll notice in the right sidebar now, I’m using an updated version of the Now Reading plugin for WordPress. It took me a while to get it working (with some help), but I’m pretty excited about it. Not only does it show the cover of the book(s) I’m currently reading, along with links to Amazon, but I can also rate books, review them, and add all kinds of extra information. It also lists books I’m currently reading, books I’ve already read, and books I plan to read. I’m sure it’ll take a while for me to fully grow into this plugin, but I’m excited nonetheless! :)
