Biden, “First to Know”, etc.
I started to blog about this, then changed my mind… Now I’m changing it again.
My Feelings on the “First to Know” stuff
It’s Saturday morning… As usual I woke up too early, and lay there in bed thinking about how the yard needs to be mowed, and this needs to be done, and that, and oh yeah that too. So I get up.
I hop on the computer to check my email, kill some time so the neighbors don’t hate me for making noise too early. My brother-in-law added me as a friend on Facebook, so I go to confirm him, and see that I have other updates. I click… and — what’s this?! Barack’s campaign has announced that his VP is going to be Joe Biden?
Wait a minute! I was supposed to be in the “First to Know” group that got a text message! I observe that the Facebook message was posted at 3:31AM. Then I go check my phone and see that I do, in fact, have a text message – it arrived at 2:30am.
An hour? They hype it up that the text message folks will be the “First to Know”, then send a text in the middle of the night? An hour before posting on Facebook, and then the rest of the world from there?
As I moved through my inbox this morning, I found an email from CNN Breaking news at 11:50pm with this announcement. I was already asleep, but it just fuels my frustration.
I feel cheated.
I haven’t even had time to digest the Biden part…
My Google Results on Biden
I really have checked out of politicis lately. I’ve just felt too overwhelmed with other things going on — a fuller social life, for example, a job I enjoy and that I’ve allowed to take up more of my time. And of course the fact I’ve felt pretty crappy physically this past week.
So anyway, I decided to go digging around and see what I could find about this Biden guy. Below are the results of my search… I’ve read good and bad things (of course that’s all subjective); but the jury’s still out at this point. Not that I have a choice, really — there’s no way I’d ever vote for McCain.
