Red Light Photo Enforcement
Have you bee burned by one of these yet?
I got a letter in the mail from the Plano Police yesterday… Puzzled at what they might want with me, I quickly opened the envelope, only to find a $75 citation for running a red light. There’s the date, time, location, and even a zoomed in picture of my license plate – but I still thought, “no way! I didn’t run any red lights!”
I guess for people like me they also have a URL you can visit to view “two additional images and video of the violation”. Video? Hm, this should be interesting….
And yup, sure enough. I pulled up to an intersection, ALMOST stopped while I was checking traffic, and when it was all clear I made a right turn. Just like the guy before me in the video, and just like the guy after me.
Turns out it was last Saturday, August 2, at 12:06pm, as we were hurrying up to Denton (running late as usual) to meet everybody at the water park.
Damn. I hope they got the people before and after me too. ;-)
