I’m not sure what’s going on, but in the last couple weeks it seems like more people that I know are getting on (or finding each other on) Facebook.
For a long time everybody that was doing the online social networking thing was on MySpace. My friends from college (I should say, my second time through college – the UTD folks) were of course on Facebook. At that time it was just for college students.
But that’s all changed, and it seems like the floodgates are open. Facebook is quickly becoming what Classmates.com never could (because they charged). I went from a measly 20-something friends (and we’re talking about people I actually know, not just online “friends”) to nearly 100 in a very short time.
I’m catching up with people from high school that I haven’t talked to in ages… Some from my UA college days. And of course lots of new coworkers. (I guess working at a company that makes software for social networking kind of makes that lot more liable to be on Facebook, huh?)
Anyway, just an observation. If you’re not on Facebook you should check it out. :)
