Goodbye Quotes
I like quotes; I’ve been collecting some (as you can see in my Quote of the Day on my blog) for several years.
This afternoon I was polishing up the goodbye letter for work (mentioned here), and decided to look for a good quote to include… I never did find anything I wanted to use (though I almost went with “So long and thanks for all the fish“; I was afraid nobody would get it though), but I liked these:
“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.” (Irish Blessings quotes)
“Don’t be dismayed at goodbyes, a farewell is necessary before you can meet again and meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.” (Richard Bach)
Neither seemed appropriate for work though.
