Garage Sale Post Mortem

So you might be wondering, “how did the garage sale go?”

I’m happy to say that it was a success!  It was definitely an adventure, though, let me tell ya!  The first few hours were kind of boring… But after about 10, when we decided to crack open a couple beers, it got pretty fun.

It was kind of a trip watching people paw through our stuff, turn things every which way, then put it back.  Even though it was stuff we wanted to get rid of, I couldn’t help but get a little defensive.  “Hey wench, that’s a perfectly good frying pan!”  Oh and my favorite part was when they’d dicker us down from $3 (for a pair of pants we paid $40) to $2, then expect me to make change for a $20.  Uh…..  SORRY, I’m all out of change.  :)

We sold probably 2/3 of our stuff (maybe a little more) and surpassed my target of $300.  I think we’re going to box up the leftovers and save them for another sale in the fall.

So now that we have a little more room in the garage, and a couple extra $$’s we didn’t have before — I think we’re going to buy some bikes.  :)  (bicycles, that is, no crotch rockets)
