Medallion

I’ve already gotten such good feedback on the posts I did earlier today, I just can’t help myself! ;-) (ok, ok, so just two people — but considering the size of my blog’s audience, that’s a lot!!)

So I thought I’d do something a little more interactive and see what you guys think.

In our quest to “fix her up” we decided to add a medallion above the light in the formal dining room. There is a tiny gap we wanted to cover between the light fixture and the ceiling (air from the attic was seeping in), thus the medallion.

The problem is that I’m not completely sold on it. I’m thinking I should take it back down and return it.

What do you think? Keep the medallion or lose it?

I don’t really have a good picture without the medallion, but you can kind of see it here (this was taken with the previous owner’s belongings still in the house):

And here it is with the medallion:

Note that this is in the front / formal dining room. The new furniture went in the dining room off the living room, so no connection to this.

Actually this is a different dining room -- this is in the front of the house, and is technically the formal dining.

I added a note to the post to clarify... :)

    Thanks for the comment!

I voted no. If it was the same silver finish it would look fine. Personally, I would shop for a new fixture. Your new dining room set NEEDS one. ;)
