What an adventure…. and please don’t tell me, I already know — it’s only just begun!
Highlights of the moving adventure:
- crappy movers trying to screw us over (AB Moving – never use them!!)
- a lost (and later found) dog
- weatherstripping adventures
- a burned out motor on the dryer
- a rigged up water line to the refrigerator
- icemaker that made one batch of ice and that’s it
- scratched refrigerator, and the drama around fixing that
- “hot” water that’s not even as warm as my pee
- a leaking hot water faucet on the washer
- at least 50 trips to Lowe’s already
- 4 hours on Sunday looking for curtains and never finding what we wanted
I’m sore and tired, and ticked off that I have to go back to work today. ;-)
I know, I know, I know — welcome to the joys of homeownership. Yeehaw.
But hey – we’ve got some great neighbors! The one I mentioned the other day brought over homemade cookies and dog treats Wednesday night, and our neighbor directly behind us offered to get us burgers Thursday night while we were unloading Keith’s truck.
All that’s left to do at the apartment is get some plants, maybe clean a little, and grab the cleaning supplies. There might be a box or two, but I think that’s it.
