Spamalot on the 4th of July
I’ve been trying to line something up for us to do on the 4th of July this year. We’ve been so preoccupied with the whole NY thing for so long, the 4th has pretty much snuck up on us! After a mass email to the friends, it looks like we’re going to see the Kaboomtown fireworks in Addison (about 2 minutes from our apartment) Tuesday night with Mark & Tim – but we had nothing lined up for Wednesday. I’ve got the day off and had wanted to hang out with a few beers and BBQ or maybe grill out, but apparently most of our friends are better planners than us. ;-)
As luck would have it, though, I got an email yesterday afternoon from Dallas Summer Musicals, where if you buy one full price ticket to Monty Phython’s Spamalot on the 4th of July, you can get a second one for $4. (yes, FOUR DOLLARS!)
It just so happens that this was pretty high up on my list of musicals I wanted to see on Broadway (after Avenue Q, and before The Color Purple), but Keith & Tressa didn’t care much to see it. But since we had nothing going on Wednesday, and this was such a bargain, I jumped on it. :D
Yay, more irreverent comedy!! lol
