My Birthday
Happy birthday to me!!
lol I started off with the worst day… but it’s ended up being a GREAT day!
So I was up until like 2am working on that BEEPing program that I never did get working. It had to be turned in by 9:30. I overslept this morning, apparently slept right through the alarm and don’t remember it. So I was late… Then the prof made me feel like a COMPLETE idiot b/c I couldn’t figure out how to get my program working (actually my partner and I, it wasn’t me alone). Of course nobody else in the class fessed up to not being able to get it to work (he just happened to remember my partner’s name b/c of all our emails to him this weekend so he called us out), so it looked like we were the only morons in the class. LATER, after class, some others admitted to us that they couldn’t get it working–but by then we’d been humiliated, so it wasn’t much consolation.
After that I went to Automata Theory, where we covered the minimization of a DFA. lol (seriously–I know it’s a freaking PDF, but just look at that link and be amazed that I stayed awake and nodded and smiled all the way through the “lecture”!) Total mathspeak for an hour. After the small number of hours I was able to sleep, it’s amazing that I wasn’t nodding off like the guy that sits next to me.
So after that I said SCREW IT, I’m going home. (lol like Cartman) I had lunch, hit the recliner, and watched TV. Keith has Mon & Tues off (that’s his freaking weekend now, his slave job has him working weekends), so when he got back from the gym and found me in the recliner, we decided it was nap time. He crashed on the couch and I moved to the love seat, and we passed out for 2 hours of bliss.
That was when things got good. :) I love sleep!!!!!
When I woke up I started checking my email, and totally felt the love! I had emails from so many friends and family members… If I didn’t feel loved Saturday night, there’s no way I could think I wasn’t after all the emails I got today! THANK YOU to all my friends that remembered! I love you all! :) Then I talked to mom (dad was golfing) on the land line, and then Jodie (my sister) called on my mobile. :) :)
So then Keith told me he wanted to take me out to dinner, my choice. As you can tell from my recipe post the other day, I’ve been craving Indian… So we went to Clay Pit (link1 link2). WOW, was it good! You walked in and it smelled wonderful! I’d eaten there once with some coworkers about a year and a half (2?) ago, but it was for lunch and we just had the buffet. I had the “mixed grill”, which was enough for both of us…. Keith had some kind of jalapeno curry that was AMAZING. It turned out on Tuesdays they have a special on their wine–any bottle under $30, or an Indian wine, is half off. I was dying to try Indian wine. I don’t know what I expected–special spices? curry? lol I dunno. But the sauvignon blanc tasted the same as any other I’ve had. (of course I’m no connoisseur!) (btw, if I link a word like that, it’s not that I’m bragging about using multi-syllabic words, it just means I had to look up how to spell it and figured I might as well make use of that link!
SO anyway…. that was lots of fun. We finished the whole bottle and decided we should move to Europe. Tomorrow. lol (yeah right) We’ve only been talking about that for a couple years….
Then we got home and I had MORE emails from friends I haven’t talked to in ages… Then I opened the mail and had a card from my Aunt, and from mom & dad. Mom & Dad’s card made me cry……..
But it’s been a great day overall! Too bad I have to go to work tomorrow….. :-/
